Field Version History and Reverting AI Changes

Every time AI Metadata generates or updates a field on a video, Zype automatically stores the previous value in that field’s history. You can view, compare, and restore up to 10 previous values per field — giving you a full safety net for any AI-driven updates.

Accessing Version History

  1. Open a video and navigate to the Details tab.
  2. Click the Version History icon (clock icon) next to the AI Generate Metadata button at the top of the Video Details section. A “View Version History” tooltip confirms the button.
  3. The Version History panel will open, showing a list of past update sessions with timestamps, user, and number of changes.
  4. Click any entry to see the changes from that session, or click the Restore icon to restore that version.
The Version History panel, showing a timestamped list of AI update sessions. Each entry shows the date, user (e.g., user@example.com), and number of field changes. Click the restore icon to revert to that version.

Reverting Individual Fields

For granular rollback — reverting only specific fields while keeping others — use the Confirm Changes screen:

  1. In the Version History panel, click an entry to open it.
  2. The Confirm Changes modal will show a Before / After table for every field changed in that session.
  3. Click Revert Change next to any individual field to revert only that field to its previous value.
  4. Or click Revert All Changes to restore all fields from that session at once.
  5. Click Save Changes on the video to commit the revert.

Version History Retention

  • Zype stores up to 10 previous values per field by default.
  • Each history entry includes the timestamp, the user who made the change, and the AI model used.
  • History retention can be configured per site (e.g., 3, 5, or 20 versions). Contact your Account Manager to adjust this limit.
✅  Tip: For quick single-step undo of the most recent AI generation, use the Undo button (↺) at the top of the Video Details section. Version History is for older or selective rollbacks.
