This article walks you through the steps to enable AI Metadata in your Zype account and get your first metadata generated. The process takes about 5 minutes to configure.
Before You Begin
- You must have admin access to your Zype CMS account.
- AI Metadata generation requires AI Transcriptions to be enabled. You can enable both at the same time.
- AI generation is a usage-based feature. Review the Usage & Billing section of AI Metadata Settings to understand how costs are measured.
Step 1: Navigate to AI Tools
- In the Zype CMS Dashboard, click AI Tools in the left navigation menu.
- The AI Tools hub will open, showing cards for AI Metadata, AI Transcriptions, and AI Translation.
- If AI Transcriptions is not yet enabled, click Enable AI Transcriptions first. AI Metadata requires transcriptions.
- Click Enable AI Metadata.
Step 2: Configure AI Transcription Settings
AI Transcriptions powers the source data that AI Metadata uses. After enabling:
- Navigate to AI Tools → Manage AI Transcriptions.
- Set the Model to Base (default) or a higher-accuracy model if needed.
- Toggle Automatically AI Transcribe Videos to ON if you want all new uploads transcribed automatically.
- Optionally configure Text Replacements to correct brand names or terminology in transcripts (e.g., “Zy pe” → “Zype”).
Step 3: Configure AI Metadata Settings
- Navigate to AI Tools → Manage AI Metadata.
- In the About Your Brand section, enter your Brand Description & Editorial Guidelines. Describe your brand voice, content categories, and any style guidelines the AI should follow. This context is applied to all AI metadata generation for your account.
- In the Metadata Generation section, select your AI Model. The default is Amazon Nova 2 Lite.
- Optionally add Reference Videos (up to 5). These are example videos whose metadata the AI will use as style and tone references.
- Use the field toggles to enable or disable generation for specific fields: Titles, Friendly Titles, Descriptions, Short Descriptions, Keywords, and Genres.
- Click Enable AI Metadata to activate.
Step 4: Generate Your First Metadata
Once enabled, you can generate metadata immediately:
- Go to any video in your Library and open the Details tab.
- Click the yellow AI Generate Metadata button at the top of the Video Details section.
- Review the generated values and click Save Changes.
| ✅ Tip: Not seeing the AI Generate Metadata button? Make sure AI Metadata is enabled in AI Tools and that the video has a transcript or subtitle file. Videos without transcripts cannot have metadata auto-generated. |
