Introducing new designs and navigation flows to modernize your Apps Creator CTV and Web app experiences.
We’re excited to announce the launch of Zype’s newly redesigned app experience across our supported CTV and Web endpoints! As part of our ongoing effort to elevate the end-user experience, this update releases a major UI/UX Refresh across Zype Apps Creator applications that will allow you to better highlight your content and provide a more seamless user experience. In addition to the UI/UX enhancements, we have improved several of the in-app experiences and overall performance of the applications so you can deliver a high-impact, frictionless viewing experience for your end users.
What’s new?
This update brings modern design standards, better content discovery, and smoother interactions to Zype-powered apps — giving your viewers a more polished streaming experience. Included in this release are:
- High-impact in-app experiences for Hero, Spotlight, Standard Grid, Always On, Episodes layouts
- New Login and Signup experiences
- Refreshed Settings screens (Privacy, Languages, Captioning, and more)
- Optimized thumbnail layouts and metadata display across all themes
- Improved iconography within app layouts
- Option for Left Navigation Bar on CTV with better spacing, icons, and font sizes (on supported platforms)
- Enhanced onboarding options, included updated QR code screens
- Improved search UI and search responsiveness
New UX Availability Timeline:
These updates will be made available for all Apps Creator platform customers in multiple release phases.
Starting May 1st, 2025, these updated experiences will roll out to all apps on these platforms:
- Roku
- Apps Creator Web experience
- All Smart TV experiences (Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Phillips, Vizio, Hisense, TCL, Sony, Sharp)
- Xbox Game Console
Coming in May 2025:
- Android TV
- Amazon Fire TV
Following soon after:
- Apple TV
How do I get the new UX designs?
All CTV apps will need to be resubmitted to receive the new UX updates. Roku is available for resubmission starting May 1st.
The new UX for Web and Smart TV applications will begin rolling out May 1st. No customer action is required for the Web application rollouts.
