Engagement Hours (or Watched Hours) represent the total number of hours that your consumers watched any of your VOD or Live Streaming video content. We extract this engagement hour metric directly from your web and OTT players.
Stream Hours (both VOD and Live Streaming) represent an approximation of streaming hours based on a fair market calculation that takes into account all actual bitrate qualities reported directly from our CDN for each stream rendition served to your consumers. The primary benefit of tracking Stream Hours as opposed to bandwidth consumption is that you only pay for what you use as opposed to paying up-front for large blocks of bandwidth data.
Note: VOD Streams are streamed at fixed bitrates while Live Streams are streamed at dynamic bitrates, continually increasing and decreasing over time and influenced by consumers' internet bandwidth quality.
