Testing a Roku build is simple and does not require adding testers to your account, unlike other platforms.

Testing a Roku Build via the Beta Channel

Beta apps are a special type of app designed for testing in a production-like environment on Roku OS. They allow up to 20 beta test users to run the app and remain available for 120 days after creation, after which they are automatically removed from the Developer Dashboard and disabled for all users who installed them.

How to Install a Test App on Your Roku Device

Step 1: Log in to your Roku Developer Dashboard.

Step 2: Select 'Beta Channels.' Under 'My beta channels,' select your app/channel.

Step 3: On your Beta Channel page, find the Access Code at the top of the Channel Information ribbon. This code is the link to add your test app to your Roku device. You can share this link with multiple testers, allowing them to install your test app on their Roku devices.

Channels will typically show up within 24 hours. To access your new channel now, you can refresh your channels on your Home screen by visiting Settings > System > Software update > Check now, or Settings > Player info on older models. Channels that have hardware requirements or minimum firmware requirements will not be displayed on Roku devices that do not meet those requirements.
