Localization: Date Time Macro Support

Overview

You can now use dynamic date and time macros—like {{event_date}}—in your events through Zype’s Apps Creator or Zype CMS. When viewers open your app, these macros are automatically converted into date and time formats that match their local language and regional settings.

That means users in anywhere in the world will see date and time details formatted in a way that feels natural to them—without you having to create separate versions of your titles.

Key benefits:

  • Viewers get a more personalized and familiar experience
  • It’s easier to manage international or multi-region content at scale

How to configure the Date Time format

You can add the {{event_date}} macro to your events, and the app takes care of the localization. Your app (once updated) will convert it into the appropriate local format.

  1. Navigate to Apps Creator > Events > Details
  2. Select the format in the Date time Format dropdown under "Availability"
  3. Add the {{event_date}} to your event title

Supported date/time formats include:

  • Short Format: 29 Jan 18:30
  • Long Format: January 29, 2025 at 6:30 PM
  • ISO Format: 2025-01-29T18:30:00Z (for technical or system use)
