Enable AI-Generated Transcriptions and Subtitles via MRSS Imports

Zype now supports automatic AI transcription and subtitle generation for content imported through MRSS feeds. This enhancement helps streamline your workflow by enabling subtitle generation during the import process—no manual steps required.

How It Works

A new setting—Enable AI Transcription—is available on each MRSS feed configuration page in the Zype CMS.

When this setting is enabled:

  • New videos imported from the MRSS feed will be automatically transcribed using Zype’s AI transcription service.

  • Subtitle files will be generated in both SRT and WebVTT formats.

  • Subtitles will be available for review and activation under the Subtitles tab of each imported video.

Important Notes

  • You can enable or disable this setting at any time in the MRSS feed configuration.

  • If you enable this setting on an existing MRSS feed, it will only apply to newly imported videos. Previously imported content will not be transcribed retroactively.

  • To transcribe already imported content retroactively in the CMS Library, select your videos and use the Transcribe option from the bulk selection editor on the main Library page.
  • This feature only applies to Zype-imported and transcoded content. Self-hosted content imported via MRSS is not supported for AI transcription at this time.

How to Enable AI Transcription for Existing MRSS Feeds

  1. Go to the Video Sources section in the Zype CMS.

  2. Select the MRSS feed you want to modify, or create a new MRSS import.

  3. Scroll to the Enable AI Transcription setting.

  4. Toggle the setting to On.

  5. Click Save to apply changes.

Any videos imported after this change will automatically be transcribed and will include SRT and VTT subtitle files if the video is imported and transcoded by Zype.
