When using Smart Insertion, adding a short priority track video above a longer base track video will allow you to see which parts of the underlying, base video now must be reprogrammed to account for the priority interruption. For example, if you have an 8-minute base track video and insert a 2-minute priority track video in the middle of this, you will need to fill two 3-minute gaps on either side of the priority track.
Gaps are used as visual indicators to signal where you should add in additional assets to the priority track for seamless programming.
In the example outlined above, you’ll notice the 3-minute gaps are shown to the left and right of the base track portion that was replaced by the 2-minute priority video. To fill these gaps, simply select content from your asset list in the Asset Panel and add it to your Timeline in the priority track. When all gaps are filled, you have ensured an interruption-free programming experience.
