Enable AI-Generated Translations and Subtitles via MRSS Imports

Zype now supports automatic AI-powered translation of video transcriptions and subtitle generation for content imported through MRSS feeds. This update enhances your localization workflow by allowing translated subtitles to be created automatically during import—no manual steps required.

How It Works

A new setting—Enable AI Translations—is available on each MRSS feed configuration page in the Zype CMS.

When this setting is enabled:

• New videos imported from the MRSS feed will be transcribed and translated into your pre-configured languages using Zype’s AI engine.

• Subtitle files in SRT and WebVTT formats will be automatically generated for each selected translation language.

• Subtitles will be available for review, editing, and activation under the Subtitles tab of each imported video.

How to Enable AI Translations for MRSS Feeds

1. Go to the Video Sources section in the Zype CMS.

2. Select an existing MRSS feed or create a new one.

3. Scroll to the Enable AI Translations setting.

4. Toggle the setting On.

5. Make sure you’ve configured your Default Translation Languages in AI Enablement Settings beforehand.

6. Click Save to apply changes.

Important Notes

• This feature only applies to videos that are imported and transcoded by Zype. Self-hosted content imported via MRSS is not currently supported for AI translation.

• The setting will only apply to newly imported videos after it's enabled. Previously imported content will not be translated retroactively.

• To translate already imported videos, go to the CMS Library, select your videos, and use the Translate option in the bulk editor (available under the Transcriptions tab).

• You can enable or disable AI Translations for any MRSS feed at any time.

By combining MRSS automation with AI translation and subtitle generation, you can scale your global distribution strategy without adding complexity to your workflow.
