Using the time interval views on reports allows you to see more granular insight into your streaming analytics. In addition to the existing summary and daily views, you can choose to select time interval views broken up by hour, by 30-minute, and by 15-minute segment. These views are available on all stream hour reports today:
- Total Stream Hours
- Live Stream Hours
- Download Stream Hours
- VOD Stream Hours
- Stream Hours by Video
- Stream Hours by Geography
- Stream Hours by Consumer
- Stream Hours by Device
When you are first examining reports on the analytics page, make sure you have selected the Streaming tab at the top of the page to pinpoint all streaming reports.
Total, Live, Download, and VOD Stream Hours
Using the Total Stream Hours report as an example, you'll notice the report displays a line chart showing the total number of hours streamed for the specified date range. Hover your mouse on a point in the chart to display total stream hours for the corresponding date.
By default, the date range is the last 30 days counting down from the time the report is generated. To change the date range, specify a different start and end date, then select Refresh. For example, to generate a report for the last 15 days, enter the date from 15 days ago as the start date, and the current date as the end date.
By default, the time interval is set to "Daily" for this report as well as for the Live, Download, and VOD stream hour reports. To change the time interval, select the dropdown arrow and select a new interval. If you are adjusting both the date range and time interval at the same time, you may want to select Refresh to ensure the data is updated to your new specifications.
When viewing in an hourly, 30-minute, or 15-minute time interval view, you'll notice the date range updates to a single day, defaulting to the first day in your date range. You can update this to a different day by updating the date range field and selecting Refresh.
Rather than showing the days on the X-axis, when in an hourly, 30-minute, or 15-minute time interval view, you'll notice timestamps (according to view) are shown in military time. Here is the "Hourly" view:
At the bottom, a table of the timestamps with their corresponding stream hours are displayed, sorted chronologically from the latest down to the earliest. Select the Date column once to reverse the sort order. Select any other column to sort by descending or ascending order.
Similar to the "Hourly" view, you will notice the "15-minute" view has a chart displayed at the top with the X-axis showing each 15-minute timestamp in military time. Here is the "15-Minute" view:
As with other views, you can select any column header to resort by descending or ascending order.
To export any view of the report in CSV format, click Export. You will then get an email containing a link to the exported .CSV file. Click the link to download the file.
Stream Hours by Video, Geography, Consumer, and Device
Using the Stream Hours by Video report as an example, you'll notice the report displays the number of hours streamed for the specified date range, broken down by video.
By default, the date range is the last 30 days counting down from the time the report is generated. To change the date range, specify a different start and end date, then select Refresh. For example, to generate a report for the last 15 days, enter the date from 15 days ago as the start date, and the current date as the end date.
By default, the time interval is set to "Summary" for this report as well as for the by Geography, by Consumer, and by Device reports.
