The Inspector Panel is the panel in the Timeline view that provides the option to view and edit Asset or Track Item details.
Selecting an item in the timeline will show the Track Item details in the Inspector Panel.
Selecting an asset in the Asset Panel will show the "asset" details in the Inspector Panel; metadata can only be expanded in the Inspector Panel when the "track item" is selected from the timeline. See also Glossary of Terms.
When an Asset is selected from the Asset Panel, you’ll find asset details in the Properties and Videos tabs of the Inspector Panel. The Properties tab holds Metadata information on the asset, while the Videos tab holds the details of the asset’s video list (if applicable). See also Navigating the Asset Panel.
When a Track Item is selected, the Inspector panel will open the “Properties” tab by default, which consists of the following sections: metadata, start and end time, start and end offset, and loops.
When selected, the Videos tab will show details of the asset’s video list (if applicable).
Metadata - Selecting this will expand the metadata associated with this Track Item in your Zype Library. This is uneditable in this view, but it is helpful when programming, particularly to be used as the original asset’s source of truth if you end up clipping your item when in the Timeline. You can however navigate to the Zype CMS from the Inspector Panel to make changes to your original asset. See also Editing Metadata in the Zype CMS from the Inspector Panel and Refreshing Assets.
Start & End Time - Selecting this will allow you to edit the start or end time of a particular item in the Timeline. This is particularly useful when scheduling exact start or end times of programmed items, but will not affect the overall duration of the item.
Therefore, you will not be able to edit these fields simultaneously; either the start OR end time can be adjusted manually here, but a change to one will necessarily change the other. Changes made to this in the Inspector Panel will be reflected in the Timeline. See also Editing Start and End Time in the Inspector Panel.
Start & End Offset - Selecting this will allow you to edit the start and/or end offset of a particular item in the Timeline. This is set to 00:00:00 by default, but can be set to a desired length for clipping the beginning and/or end of a Track Item. This is used to clip the duration of programmed items. Changes made to this in the Inspector Panel will be reflected in the Timeline. See also Editing Start and End Offset in the Inspector Panel.
Loops - Selecting this will allow you to set Track Items repeat or “loop” for continuous broadcasting. You can enable this within the Inspector Panel by turning the toggle to a “Yes” state and entering in a numeric value for your desired total loop count. You can also set gaps between loops here. See also Looping Items.
You will also notice icons at the top of the Inspector Panel: the ungroup icon, the pencil icon, and the garbage bin icon.
The ungroup icon allows you to ungroup items in the Timeline. See also Ungrouping Items in the Timeline.
The pencil icon directs you to the Zype Library to edit your original asset. See also Editing Metadata in the Zype CMS from the Inspector Panel.
The garbage bin icon allows you to delete programmed items from the Timeline, see also Removing Items from the Timeline.
