How do I edit a program block after I have added it to the Timeline?

Selecting the program block in either the Assel panel or Timeline view will allow you to see the block details in the Inspector Panel. Within the Inspector Panel there is a Properties tab where you can update your block title and description. You can also open the Assets tab to view the content list of your program block. To ungroup your program block, you can select the ungroup icon in the Inspector Panel. See also Creating Program Blocks and Ungrouping Items in the Timeline.

How do I edit items in the Timeline without them snapping to the nearest hash mark?

When editing item positioning in the Timeline, items will automatically “snap” to align with nearby programmed items or hash marks. To disable the “snap to hash” functionality, hold the Option key down on Mac (Alt key on Windows) and then select your item to drag. See also Programming in the Timeline.

What happens if I program inactive or non-Zype-hosted content into my channel?

Zype Playout 2.0 programming supports the use of active, Zype-hosted video sources in channels. If a playlist you are scheduling happens to include an inactive or non-Zype-hosted video, these spots will automatically be filled with the fallback slate you set during initial channel configuration to avoid programming gaps. If you choose not to set a fallback slate, your viewers will see the Zype-branded fallback slate for the duration of the program gap. See also Configuring a New Channel.

Future versions of Playout 2.0 will show warnings or indicators in the Timeline when attempting to program unsupported items.

What happens if I edit the original source playlist that is powering my Playout Channel?

The Asset Panel in the Timeline view will automatically load the most recent Zype library content each time you load the page. To trigger a manual refresh, select the refresh icon at the top of the Asset Panel. See also Refreshing Assets.

How can I make sure my playlist updates get into the Timeline?

When you update the original source playlist in the Zype Library, make sure you first refresh your assets in the Asset Panel. If your playlist was programmed into the Timeline prior to the refresh, delete the outdated playlist from the Timeline and program the updated playlist by selecting it from the Asset Panel list and dragging and dropping into the Timeline. If the playlist that has been updated is already broadcasting, you can use the Priority Track to program the updated playlist to override underlying content. See also Refreshing Assets and Refreshing Programmed Assets (Items).

How long will it take for my priority smart insertion to apply to my channel?

Adding priority track items can take a few moments to apply to your channel, depending on how much override functionality need to process. However, once the priority track item has been programmed, the changes on your channel will appear almost instantly. See also Priority Smart Insertion.

Will gaps in my programming automatically loop the fallback slate?

If you don’t program to fill the gap, the fallback slate you set during initial channel configuration will loop for the duration of the gap. Today, if you choose not to set a fallback slate, your viewers will see the Zype-branded fallback slate for the duration of the program gap. In the future Zype will provide a fallback slate in the event that you do not set one. See also Configuring a New Channel

When I make updates to an on-air channel, how quickly upon selecting "Publish" will my programming changes be reflected to my audience?

Any changes that are published for on air channels or published channels (not yet on air) will be reflected in the channel almost immediately. For currently broadcasting (on air) channels, your audience will see the programming update nearly instantaneously. See also Draft vs Published Channel State.
