You may want to make some changes to the way content is arranged in the app or to some creative assets (logos, banners, colors, etc.) which you can do in the Apps Creator dashboard. Any such changes will be dynamic and won’t need re-building the app binaries/builds or redeploying the web app.

However, there are a few things that require an app update (new binary/build submission) when you change them. This is the list of changes that need an app resubmission:

  • App(Brand) name and/or App store name
  • Any creative asset in the platform setup, like App icon, store background, feature graphic, notification icon, Banner, Banner(small), Apple TV Top shelf image, etc.
  • App Store description and/or short description, keywords, category
  • TV launch screen
  • Mobile launch logo
  • Google Analytics and/or Firebase settings
  • Updating screenshots requires an app update on Apple
  • Toggling ads ON/OFF requires an app update on Apple
  • Adding any in-app purchase (subscriptions or individual in-app purchases) for the first time requires an app update on Apple
  • Removing or adding Restore purchases option in app settings
  • Enabling player controls on live content
  • Enabling Chromecast in the iOS app

Optional Integrations that require App re-submission

  • Media Melon Analytics
  • Social logins (Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple)
  • NPAW integration
  • OneSignal integration
  • Security Compliance Integration

So, whenever you make any change to any of the items listed above, please write to us at devaccounts@mazsystems.com letting us know about the changes made. We will then need to create new builds for the app and submit them to the app stores.

There may be strings in the app UI that are not customizable from the Apps Creator dashboard. Please contact your account manager to change a specific string you don’t see in the dashboard.
