The Zype–CuttingRoom integration allows you to quickly edit Zype-hosted videos in CuttingRoom’s powerful cloud-based editor, then publish them directly back into Zype or out to social media platforms and other destinations.

This guide walks you through the steps required to activate the integration and begin using CuttingRoom with your Zype video content.

What is CuttingRoom?

CuttingRoom is a next-generation, browser-based video editing platform built for professionals. It enables fast, collaborative video production with features like:

• Real-time editing from live streams and files
• Support for multi-aspect ratio exports (16:9, 1:1, 9:16, 4:5)
• Motion graphics and After Effects templates
• Frame rate normalization
• Multi-platform publishing (including Zype, social media, MAMs)

Integration Capabilities

With the Zype + CuttingRoom integration, you can:

• Import videos from your Zype library directly into CuttingRoom
• Edit clips with full graphics, overlays, and formatting support
• Export edited videos back into your Zype video library
• Publish directly to social media and other destinations
• Edit live streams from Zype using supported ingest formats (SRT, RTMP, Zixi, HLS)

How to Set Up the Integration

Prerequisites

• A Zype CMS account with an active API key
• A CuttingRoom account with access to “Integrations”

Setup Steps in CuttingRoom:

1. Log in to your CuttingRoom dashboard
2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations
3. Select Zype from the list of available integrations
4. Configure the integration:
   • Storage Name: Choose a name for this Zype integration
   • Sharing Settings: Choose whether content should be shared automatically
   • API Key: Paste in your Zype CMS API key
5. Click Save

Once connected, your Zype video content will appear in the Source dropdown within CuttingRoom’s editor interface.

Editing and Publishing Workflow

Once the integration is active:

1. Open a project in CuttingRoom
2. Select Zype as your source to browse available video assets
3. Use CuttingRoom’s full suite of tools to edit, cut, and enhance your video
4. Choose to either:
   • Publish the finished video back to your Zype Library
   • Export to social channels, CMS platforms, or MAM systems
   • Do both

Can I edit live streams from Zype in CuttingRoom?
Yes! CuttingRoom supports live stream editing using SRT, RTMP, Zixi, and HLS feeds — including those sourced from Zype Live.

Do I need to move files manually from Zype to CuttingRoom?
No — once integrated, your Zype video library is accessible directly within CuttingRoom. Imports and exports are handled via API.

Can I control aspect ratios and graphics in CuttingRoom?
Yes — CuttingRoom supports flexible aspect ratios and motion graphics layers, including After Effects template support.
