Analytics Data Disclaimer

At Zype, we’re committed to providing our customers with the tools they need to make informed decisions. Our Analytics features are designed to offer powerful insights into your content performance, viewer engagement, and monetization trends. However, it’s important to understand the context and limitations of the data provided through Zype’s Analytics dashboards and reports.

Overview

Some reports and dashboards in Zype Analytics rely on data pulled from third-party integrations—including but not limited to subscription platforms, payment processors, and ad networks. While we work hard to ensure data accuracy and consistency, this data is intended only for directional insights and not for use in official financial reporting or audits.

What Does “Directional Insights” Mean?

Directional insights help you understand general patterns and trends—such as viewer growth, content popularity, subscription churn, or estimated revenue. These insights are highly valuable for:

  • Content planning and creation decision-making
  • Marketing or social media strategy optimization
  • Operational monitoring
  • Understanding viewer engagement

Why the Discrepancy?

Analytics reports that incorporate third-party data may show slight variations from what’s available directly in your payment platforms (e.g., Stripe, Braintree, Recurly Apple, Google, Roku, etc.) due to:

  • Delays or lags in data sync
  • Differences in how fees, refunds, chargebacks, or taxes are reported
  • API rate limits and data granularity constraints from external platforms
  • Potential issues with third-party data availability or changes in integration behavior

Because of these factors, the data presented in Zype Analytics should be considered an estimate, and not a guaranteed financial record.

For Financial Reporting, Use Source-of-Truth Systems

For any official, fiduciary, or legal reporting—including tax filing, financial audits, or revenue reconciliation—you should always rely on source-of-truth data directly from your payment or monetization platforms. These systems are built to handle accounting-grade data and offer the most complete, up-to-date, and legally reliable figures.

If you're ever unsure about which platform to use for specific financial records, here are a few sources of truth and/or payment platforms that are supported by the Zype platform:

Use Case Source of Truth
Subscription or Transaction Revenue Reporting Stripe, Braintree, Recurly, Apple/Google/Roku/Amazon Application Marketplaces
Ad Revenue Reporting Freewheel, Publica, Google Ad Manager, etc.  Your ad decisioning platform
Refunds & Chargebacks Your payment processor platform
