Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication

Introduction

As of October 2021, Zype users can choose to enable Multi-Factor Authentication for enhanced login security. Choose between text message or authenticator app as the MFA factor for log in. Authenticator apps can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play.

Setting Up MFA

  1. Navigate to your account page, by selecting "Manage Account" in the top right menu

  2. Click on the "Security" tab
  3. Underneath the "Multi-Factor Authentication" section switch the toggle to "Enabled" for the factor you want to enable
  4. Confirm by clicking on "Enable" in the pop-up that appears
  5. You will need to re-enter your password
  6. Download an authenticator app and use it to scan the QR code or enter your phone number if you've selected text message as your MFA factor

  7. Enter your code from the app or text message
  8. After clicking on the "Exit" button you will be logged into the Zype Dashboard

Logging in with MFA

The next time you login you will be prompted to enter the code provided by either text message or Google Authenticator. After entering the correct code, you will land on the Zype Dashboard.

Disabling MFA

  1. Navigate to your account page, by selecting "Manage Account" in the top right menu
  2. Click on the "Security" tab
  3. Underneath the "Multi-Factor Authentication" section switch the toggle to "Disabled" for the factor you want to disable
  4. Confirm by clicking on "Disable" in the pop-up that appears (in this case we're disabling the authentication app factor)

MFA Required For Your Property

For some Zype properties, the administrator (account owner) may make MFA required. In this case, you will be automatically prompted to establish a MFA factor the next time you login.

If you try to disable your only MFA factor, you will be logged out of your account, and prompted to establish a factor when you login again.
