Content Rules
Content rules allow you to set specific access policies for your content. You can set rules on a playlist, category, or per video basis.
Adding Content Rules for a Video
- In the left navigation sidebar, click Library.
- Click the video title you would like to add a content rule to.
- Click the Content Rules tab to edit content rules.
Adding Content Rules for a Categories
- In the left navigation sidebar, click Categories.
- Click the category title you would like to add a content rule to.
- Click the Content Rules tab to edit content rules.
Adding Content Rules for a Playlists
- In the left navigation sidebar, click Playlists.
- Click the playlist title you would like to add a content rule to.
- Click the Content Rules tab to edit content rules.
Editing Content Rules
- To add a content rule click New Rule.
- Choose your rule settings then click Save Rules.
About Content Rule Settings
Enabled - If the content rule is not enabled it will be ignored.
Policy - If set to deny the selected countries will not be allowed to view your content. If set to allow the selected countries will be allowed to view your content. Note that the default if no policy is set is to allow all countries to view your content.
Priority - Allows you to rank the priority of your rules if they conflict. 1 is the highest priority.
Countries - Choose the country you would like to match your rule to.
Examples
To deny your video access to the United Kingdom and allow access in all other countries:
- Create a rule to Deny access to the United Kingdom.
To allow only access to the United States and deny access to every other country:
- Create a rule to Allow access to the United States with Priority set to 1.
- Create a rule to Deny access to Global with Priority set to 2.
Consumer Super Watchers
If you have administrators or users who you would like to give special privileges to bypass all content rules you can set them as a Super Watcher. Super Watchers will bypass all Content Rules, allowing them to watch a video from anywhere.
To Set a Consumer as a Super Watcher
- In the left navigation sidebar, click Make Money.
- In the box on the right, click Consumers.
- Click the consumer you would like to edit.
- Toggle Super Watcher to On.
- Click Save Changes.
Testing Content Rules
Zype provides an easy way to test out your content rules.
- Choose a requesting country to simulate a consumer watching from that country.
- Press Test.
- If the video is allowed the user will be allowed to watch it.
You can also add a consumer to test and see if that consumer can access the video. If a consumer is a Super Watcher they can view the video from anywhere.
